Geographical position.
Ukraine is located in a central part of Europe. It the neighbours are from north - Byelorussia, from east - Russia, from west - Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, from the south - Moldova and Romania. Ukraine has an output to the Black sea and is marine country.

The population.
The population of Ukraine as of a 1998 made of 42 million inhabitants. The square of territory of Ukraine makes 1067 thousends of square kilometers.

Ukraine multinational country. The most numerous national groups living on territory of Ukraine is Ukrainian, Russian, Tatarian, Byelorussians, German. The Hungarians, Romanians, Slovaks and other are less numerous on the amount.

The state and policy.
Ukraine - young country. In a 2001 we celebrated ten years' anniversary of a proclamation of independence. Ukraine - parliament-presidential republic. The supreme body of a legislative power is the Parliament - " Verhovna Rada of Ukraine ". The supreme body of the executive authority is the Study of the Ministers of Ukraine. The president of Ukraine, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, is the maximum official and guarantor of the Constitution of Ukraine. Ukraine is one from countries of the initiators of creation of the United Nations Organization (then in structure USSR). Therefore and today policy of Ukraine is directed on maintaining of the world, corresponds to principles of non-interference in internal businesses of other states. Our country has refused possession of the nuclear weapon at once after withdrawal from structure USSR.

Economy.
The Ukrainian economy is in a stage of the development. By an inheritance USSR became general decline of production and gross national product. However for rather small interval of time the government has managed to reform economy and now Ukraine has own stablis currency, developed industry and financial orb. Main branches of production of Ukraine are: heavy engineering, mineral industry, easy and food-processing industry, agriculture. A geographical disposition, climatic conditions and the unique soils make possible development of an agriculture of Ukraine, and this area is one from priority. From times USSR Ukraine possessed huge capacities and the majority from them managed to be saved. Pride of economy of Ukraine and parameter it of a potential is the most high-power plane in the world "Mriya", own space program including a space port and Ukrainian launchers, metallurgical enterprises for production of steel and aluminium (one from most high-power in Europe).
